Let's remember that at one time, before the sell out, the aging, the greed, that THIS WAS THE BEST KICK ASS ROCK&ROLL BAND OUT THERE...... just ask my AKITA dog "THEO", HE knows!

"before the sell out, the aging, the greed" -- harsh words. Are you able to pinpoint the moment they sold out? If music is what you do, performing is what you love and you are wealthy beyond the need to "work" for a living -- should you just stop because of "aging"? As to "greed", well this is a slant that may be put upon any successful artist who chooses to continue long after a perceived "sell-by-date".I am not a fan of much that they have done since the seventies; and yet I do not ascribe any of the motives you list, to them. Perhaps they should have stopped -- with such a stupendous body of work already behind them by 1982. It doesn't matter to me, It must still be a blast to see Keith and Mick banging out the classics -- long may they continue.Every song on your mix is a moment of greatness. Yes they were one of "THE BEST KICK ASS ROCK&ROLL BAND(s) OUT THERE", for many they still are.

1972 when the ticket price to see them at MSG jumped to 12.00, an unheard of amount...

2006 when 350.00 gets you a decent seat

STILL love them but when was the last great STONES tune written?

Damn! Good points about the outrageous ticket prices. I was unaware. I saw them at St James Park in 1982. I cannot, for the life of me recall the price of admission. I remember that J. Geils were supporting and that the Stones were still bloody good. I don't know who is responsible for setting the prices you mention; but the band should be aware and have some say. Therefore, I agree in principle with your point. As to the "last great STONES tune written" -- well, that certainly gives me pause. I'll have to get back to you on that -- perhaps that makes your point also. TouchT!

A hotly contested STONES debate/discussion..

fair warning, this household has seen dozens of Stones tours until Steel Wheels which was arguably the last of the better written projects...

Last great Stones Song?

open to discuss...

Their faces may be craggy and aged, their bodies toothpick thin, but their concert prowess was proven to me earlier this year. It was a kick-ass show and worth my $120. I'm fine with their old songs, both live and in this mix.

I have A LOT of music, but the last complete Stones CD I have is Exile on Main Street... and I have everything else. So, to me, that is when the Stones became something else...

Well, well, well; it appears that The last Stones album I purchased was "Tattoo You" in 1981. So that must be when I "moved away" from whatever came next. This could be a new mix or something. We all have to compile tracks from the last Stones album each of us bought and... oh, you get the picture. I must admit I'm fascinated by this "cutoff point" idea. See what you've started...

What! Nothing from "A Bigger Bang"? But they are still great in concert.

They are tighter now in concert than they were back in the day but their prowess as song writers has greatly diminished!

Roll Right was based on my favorite period, 66-72 with the emphasis on the incredible parade of stellar collections:

Banquet
Bleed
Fingers
Exile

Can it get better than that?

HEARTS of SOUL soon at your door.....
