All songs used in car ads.Feedback:
Curious series - - how do you research and find these?
these are great! my personal most noticed artist used ever - nikka costa's everybody got their something. that things in like 3 different ads every year for the past five years. i hope she's rich by now lol
Well Steve... I actually began to write down songs in a notebook everytime I heard one in an ad. Then a lot of times I would have no idea what the song is, eventually I found a site that lists commercial songs and artists. There are still some that are hard to find. Like right now there are a couple of Intel ads that are driving me mad at not knowing what the songs are - especially because I like the sound of them just from the small snippet in the ads. And for Jab: That Nikka Costa song has been in car ads and JC Penny's that I know of. There's probably more that I don't remember. Luckily I had already had her cd before the commercials started up. :)
The sites I use to research are wtc.com and songtitleinfo.com
You'd love the weird stuff we get on adverts in the UK... anyone else remember thinking "Why the hell did Dunlop think 21st Century Schizoid Man would sell tyres?"
this is cool. Nifyy Research too!!!
Stan Freberg loves you.
I believe it was Marshall McLuhan that said the televised ad's were the predominant art form of the 20th century, and here is l'il Ms Paula proving that the art form continues into the 21st.Superb series (I wish my Tigers could say the same...).
