me first and the gimme gimmes. where do i begin? i begin with this: i love them. then i second it with this witty retort: you should love them too. not familiar?, then i lay this upon you. me first and the gimme gimees are a cover band. and a punk band. and a punk band that does covers. a punk cover band doing covers of songs while also covering punk songs. sort of. for the beauty of me first is not only the wonderful up tempo versions of classic (and future classics, and not exactly classics), but the arrangements done to the sounds of classic punk songs. for example, the cover of willie nelson's on the road again is set up to the misfits' astrozombies. their cover of save the best for last (ommited from this mix for time restraints) is to the sex pistol's pretty vacant. san francisco kicks in with bad religion's stranger than fiction. so it's double delicious. you will love them. trust in me. trust in jab.
