Comment:
6 A.M. Goodbye Helen, goodbye Freja. By 6.50 it's champagne &a harvest reaped! Then me, myself &i we 3 flowers we all had a high old time! Our introduction to Group 1850 couldn't have been better timed (nice one postman) Follow me for a trip through our minds. 8.20 & it's welcome into the world to Emilie Laura 5helen's friend gave birth today) no need to crack open champagne I'm ahead of the game. Float up to noon & replenish fuel for the continuing journey. By 25 O'Clock I'mwell travelled & entering dimensions all of my own. Lord knows what the rest of the day will bring? Bless the harvest, & thank fuck for day's on yer own. Track 11 dedicated to Valis -he knows why!!!
Feedback:
Prap's a little heavy on Groove 1850 hee hee but at least by the end you've got the opener translated lol.
You really are quite mad arent you Cliffy? I know five here and they are all a bit nutty so harvest on you crazy fruitcake. Watch out for the stock take mon ami, once bitten an' all that...
This looks really great, good sir. One of my favorites of yours.
The Bubble Puppy are my favourite band in the world! OK, I haven't heard a single thing by them but I'm sure if I did they would be. This is tip-top, full of quality tunes. Amen.
Your comments completely made my day! Love the look of this whole thing, especially that Dukes Of Stratosphere -> Love bit - and Ultimate Spinach too! I like your treble dose of Groove 1850 too; seems like it suits the mix a lot. And if that's what frame of mind you're in, I say go with it. Nice stuff.
Hot Smoke & Sasafrass! Love 10-14 especially. I just know I will listen to this someday....
cornucopious mang!
Fascinating mix.
While the cats are away the mice will play - all 3 of them.I have heard an alternate version of "The Time Has Come Today" - wonder if it was the "full version" I was hearing.
This is a delight! Very Valis-esque -- both in the cover and the tracks. Excellent Dukes and Grape tunes.
The Pubert Brown Fridge Occurence!!!??? Oh my...do tell me more!!! This just looks like something I would LOVE.
Beautiful! Good to see the Peanut Butter Conspiracy get some love here, too!
Grooveadelic Cliff!
Hee Hee, only I could write Groove 1850 when the band are bloody called Group 1850! Thanks Valis fer pointing out my mistake, must have been more wrecked than I realised by 9 A.M. cos I spent the entire day drooling about 'Groove 1850.'
trippy
This looks awesome.
Sounds a bit like recent Bear weekends (friends' 30th birthdays etc). Really cool.
Holy sh_t!
Listened to this whilst enjoying those first two cups o' java this fine Saturday morning; now I think my day may be a bit slower in accomplishments. This thing gives off such a strong contact high I can well-imagine the waftings of the smoke in La Maison du Cliff..! The best mixes always make me wish I was somehow there at the time of their creation and this one does that, (though I know I'd be laying floor-ward by disc's end.) That Peanut Butter Conspiracy>Group 1850>Pubert Brown run is the true heart and soul of this and I caught myself getting up a few times from my writings to double-check the tracklist---now I've owned that Pubert Brown since the month it came out, but-is it me or do they sound like the Kinks on this track..? I'd never noticed it before, set amongst their own tracks. Anyway, now I'm buzzing and questioning coherence. Salute!!! Bravo! Bravo! (et, merci pour le disc!)
