Comment:
Luci, my step daughter to be, asked me over the phone was i actually any good at art of the mix. All i could answer was I had a fairly decent music collection. What I should have said was I don't care if folk think I'm good or not, I enjoy making the mixes. So pleae enjoy my enjoyment.Feedback:
The only sensible solution is to make this young lady a mix! Or just give her this...
You can tell her that Sally Anne thinks you are enviably brilliant.
Yes, fairly. ; ) But what patience she must have for your backwards stance on technology.
To bastardise that Pipettes title - "Your mixes are wasted on me." Just joking of course Dom, lots of tast treats here.
.::.Dom, I agree with Barrydali on this one. You should also give her a copy of this one too!
Jeez, Dom. I know I don't comment on yr mixes very often (I know I'm not around as often as I used to be), but you're always consistently brilliant, man!! This one looks especially great, I gotta say.
upside down and around and around, can't say this is boring anyway
Yesss... very nice, very, very, nice...
Luci, He is very good!
killer, killer mix. A great opening threesome, great picks from Sweet and Archies, and I'm always a fan of of title and/or artist links (ie Hunters and Collectors).
Well, if you give this to Luci I don't see how she could justifiably question whether you are good or not at making mixes! This looks pretty damn rad.
i'm pretty sure your first answer was an understatement - very, very nice job!
er, yeah! Especially anything with The Contortions.
Dom1, tell Luci I said you're an inspired and inspiring mixer..go ahead, I'll wait...(Throwing Muses, "Rebel Rouser" -> "Rebel Rock Me", "My Generation" -> "Who"...shakes his head)
Well, it looks very very pleasing enjoyable & good. But just like Luci, I'd have to hear it to be sure. Yes, that's it - I have to hear it!
Start her slowly... theres a "bad" age where teenagers are agin' whatever you are for. Now that I am past it, I am constantly amazed by their singing along to tunes that I would have NEVER guessed they were paying any attention to!
Looks great, Dom. All over the place but in a good way. I hope your enjoyment of making these outlasts the world's supply of C90's :)
All kinds of the good stuff.
Any good?!? You're one of the most prolific mixers on the site. This just serves as another example to drive the point home.
I'm with Muzag! (I also think Luci has more than a little inkling of just how good you are!)
I'd say you're very good at Art of the Mix, as this mix attests. Who's your baby?
Yeah, you're pretty good by the looks of it. Certainly any mix with the Shangri-Las, Can, and Donny & Marie is worthy of high praise. (By the way I'm impressed you use telephones -- I took you for a telegraph kind of guy).
Of course you are - and I'm enjoying along with you. Nicely put together, this one, too.
I think this mix speaks for itself, my friend! And, as disappearer says, this is just another example of why everyone here thinks you're so good. Love the Stevie Wonder/James Brown bit there!
