Comment:
Each of these songs mentions a specific length of time that has passed since a break-up. For Sinead O'Connor, "it's been 7 hours and fifteen days," while for Savage Garden, "it's been 7 months and counting." Sugababes describes the "7 hours since you went away"; meanwhile, Elvis laments, "7 lonely days, and a dozen towns ago, I reached out one night and you were gone." Some of these artists give an approximate length of time-- for example, the Shangri-Las sing, "It's been 2 years or so since I saw my baby go"-- whereas other artists recount the passing time exactly (in Art Brut's case, "I've not seen her in 10 years, 9 months, 3 weeks, 4 days, 6 hours, 13 minutes, and 5 seconds").This mix is arranged in chronological order, with the most recently-ended relationships coming first. If anyone has suggestions for additions to this mix, I would love to include more songs. There's definitely space for more-- I just have trouble finding ones to fit the theme! Thanks for any help you can give, and I hope you enjoy the concept.
Feedback:
This is a cool concept. I really love that Cure song.
