Comment:

Unlike the previous Across The Pond I've sampled from as many genres (US) as possible - I've got so much of this stuff it was really difficult...the basic rule I had was you must be able to dance to it or at least finger pop..& only one track from each album - a stupid rule I agree but I like to wade through my collection. Although not included here, it was nonetheless fascinating to find Paul Revere & The Raiders kicking around in 1961. That's the beauty of these date defined mixes. Anyway, I've tried to include artists great and small - instantly recognisable tracks and one's that are obscure. Imho this makes for a more interesting listen than comps stacked with hit after hit. There are many artists I'd like to have included but room got the better of me. Enjoy.

Absolutely brilliant. What a fertile couple of years! That Junior Walker tune is one I've been covering for 14 years.

Top of the tippity top, in every way. Like Mr. P. I love that Jr. Walker tune. I would also love to hear his version...

one of my very favorite periods of music, excellently compiled -- i can't fault a single track here, & that ronettes cut is one of my top 5 all-time favorite songs

I gotta hand it to you Dom1, you really know your 60s music and you aren't afraid to pick tracks that lesser openminded people would turn their nose at (i.e. the Newbeats) Great selection of obscurities...

That actually sounds like a pretty good rule to me. One to live by, really. Fantastic selection - there really was so much wonderful stuff floating around during that time period and I love how you've managed to cover so many genres. Well done.

Yeah, you met your match with that selection of years. A great time, a ton of tunes. Who would've thought a guy getting drafted could cause such a fuss?
