Comment:

Speak for yourself (re: the title of the mix), Ms. Karen might say. And she'd be right. Tis I who am the sole nerd, so it is my honour DJ K. graced me with her presence on this one (the title's taken from the first track, btw). This mix has been long in the gestation period (let's call it the courtship phase), with this nerd's request to mix being rebuffed a couple of times (seems a case of mutual admiration confusion was at play). But we finally hooked up and produced this. I was pleasantly surprised with the results (I wasn't sure I'd be able to keep up, quite frankly), as I hope you all will be, too. The mix officially starts with the second track (although we both contributed to the first mashed track), with Karen kicking it off with Mr. Monk and Mr. Coltrane. I mixed this baby, and I hope it lives up to (or at least receives a passing grade) Karen's high, bar-setting mixing standards.

Well, this is a combo that I am going to have to check out simply due to the DJ's past (incredible) performances. The only two cuts I know the performers on are 2 & 4, so I am looking forward to some interesting sounds... No vote yet (I'll have to hear it first), but I'll be back.

And, pleased I am to say that I enjoyed it greatly. Not for everyone, but then again, what is?

Dear Leif,
I, too, was surprised with the results...in a good way. Thanks for mixing this and thanks to ZoT Jarvis for the Beatles/Cure mashup that sits at number 10.

Very cool indeed - I love a bit of Kid Koala, and to link the opening track into the Monk/Coltrane is very nice. Good one.
