So I'm chatting to Barrydali on messanger & 'H' says to me, "The Cilla Black track that Barry sent you, can you put it on a mix for Jan? (one of me 2 mother-in laws - yeh pity me guys I've got a step M-I-L as well as Helen's mum)"Sure I say, when you want it?" "Oh for tomorrows post says 'H'!!! So here's the result of a frantic evening. The Cilla track is the orchestral version featuring Paul Mc Cartney, Jan phoned me recently & asked if I could track it down for her. Jan's a massive Joni Mitchell & Van Morrison fan hence the inclusion of those 2 songs; the rest is just mellow me. Double thanx to Barry who kindly provided me with the closer too.

Looks great, Cliff. As a matter of fact (and as far as I can tell from the tracklist - haven't heard all of it), I probably would have been quite impressed even if you'd said you'd worked on this for a few weeks.
Oh and believe me folks the closing pair? Well what a segue...
This is the 108508th mix to be posted on AOTM and Cilla Black has only been represented on 42 of them, thanks mainly to Buglady, Dom & myself. This must be rectified. Ms Black produced some wonderful pop moments during the 60's. I wanna see more Cilla on AOTM!! As for the rest of the mix, wonderful. Great Mojave 3, Sufjan, Middleton & Judee Sill picks. Where do you get off being so nice to your mother in law?
This looks good 7 mellow. I'm with sammy on Judee Sill (although I don't quite share his rampant enthusiasm for Cilla) and very much saluting you for including that Pogues song and for including Phil Ochs in any capacity.
There's an idea as it's mines to be B-day...quite a sexy lookin' mix for a m-in law...sorry!

evidently mirarcles do not take longer. great Mojave 3 pick, and I'll have to hear me some more Cilla Black. I'm sure I don't know what I'm missing. whatever happened to Buglady anyhow? I was on the verge of becoming one of her biggest fans just after I discovered the site, and then she flew away. her last posting was nearly a year ago.
