Comment:

Wow, what a month...such wonderful music to my ears. Sorry for the Switchfoot - I used to hate them, but they have a spanking new single that just came out of nowhere with power pop awesomeness. Sorry also for Poison - they don't really fit anywhere on the mix, but I've been trying to find a place for that song for a while now. Lame, yes, but so fist-pumpingly entertaining. It's hard to decide what the centerpiece here is, since I love so many of the songs - I'm inclined to say Wreckless Eric, as it inspired the mix (I hadn't thought about it in years, until I heard it used in "Stranger Than Fiction") and is an unheralded masterpiece, but there's also the joyful bombast of Portastatic and Switchfoot, the Queen-esque music hall throwdown of Mika, the destined-to-be-a-lost-classic track by The Oohlas that packs in more catchy moments than you could ever want, the transcendental qualities of the last 7 tracks, and Roxette, the most unlikely revival of the year. I didn't even think they were still a band, but then here comes this simply perfect dance pop single and suddenly I'm hooked on Roxette like it's 1990 all over again.

All in all, I'm in music ecstasy, as always :)
