Comment:
Over the last year or so I reckon I've listened to more mixes than actual artist albums. Ok, that may not be strictly true as during the week I work in a record store and can't play mixes while I'm there.."Excuse me, what is this you are playing ?" "It's the latest hemizen" "Never heard of them, but they sound great, I'll take a copy.."
Alright, but at home I've listened to many many mixes! I've always had a thirst for discovering new music, and since I stumbled across this site last year I've been like a kid in a sweetie shop.
Over the summer, whilst planning a new mix I realized every track I wanted to include came from another mix. I got over this problem in fine style by posting AOTM : Discoveries. As a few of you will agree, this wasn't a gimmick as it was a darn good mix. The temptation to hurry a Volume 2 was there, but I resisted. And I'm glad I did.
Countless more trades since Vol 1 along with more & more AOTMers submitting links mean this time around I have a completely new line up. And here is the result..
Pt1 Pt2

Feedback:
Cowabunga, this is hot!
Here are 24 shining reasons why they best mixers on the site and with this mix you can count yourself among them. Great tribute.
I have been meaning to do one of these since you posted your first volume. This is fabulous and I am honored to be included with this esteemed group. (If I worked in a record store I would never go home with a penny.)
Sounds great. Truly, there is so much to learn from the upper elite mixers (while I rest on a lower rung for the time being). As long as I'm in a music mood, this site never bores or disappoints.
It's always a joy to see and hear a new Sammyg mix. This is no exception. Another great collection from a mixer who gives so much back. I am humbled by the generosity of spirit, musical knowledge and honest exuberance that make up just a small portion of the Sammyg phenomena. If you ever lose faith, just type sammyg123 in the search column -- you won't regret it. Cheers, Sammy; you're one of the best!
looks nice, sorry for not contribute with anything
This looks absolutely amazing, Sammy. Echoing Mark's sentiment about being honoured to be included, too.
well said, Nomates. Christmas comes early w/ this greatest hits collection by some of the site's best. discovered some of these on the site myself - and some I've yet to hear. looking forward to the Bettye Lavette, Dick Dale and Kronos Quartet and many others, I'm sure. great work, sammyg.
Another fine thank-you note.
You've pulled it of again Sammyg! Every day is a school day on AotM. Highlights before listening are locovinagre, NoV, and Muzag. I just know I'm about to find many more treasures within this goody bag. Thanks for the link mate.
Another fine mix you've gotten into (fumble with tie when reading that) Sammy you're such a bonus to the site, long may your mix-makin' continue.Would like to say I know 'fuck everything but in truth I know fuck all.'
As you have not utilized a single note of music from any of the mixes I have so generously shared, I do not feel need to comment further....
Just kidding! This is awesome. Especially diggin 18 - Finish (mostly due to familiarity, I imagine). Thanks for making this site fun to visit!
I'm not familiar with everything here, but the stuff I know, alongside what I know from your other mixes, leads me to believe this is another great Sammyg mix.
Nice looking 2nd volume, SammyG. Thanks for the inclusion within this spectacular array of mixers.
i remember i just started posting here when the first volume was MOTW, so i'm glad i can be here for volume 2 -- this is such an excellent idea, kudos to you pal.
Another volume from one of the GOOD GUYS!
Very cool idea and great mix. Thanks for the nod.
I love this tangent stuff.
Sammy, this is terrific. My hat is off to you.
Another outstanding edition.
Thank you for doing this. That must have taken a lot of time and work. I greatly enjoyed listening to it.
This is just plain great - so much good stuff on here. And thanks for the mention!
A very excellent sequel indeed! A perfect display of the massive musical education we all get thanks to this site, and while a lot of this isn't familiar to me, what I do know is wonderful. Well done...looking forward to volume 3! ;)
Another worthy endeavor. Not much I recognize here. We AOTMers listen to some pretty obscure stuff, don't we?
This really demonstrates what a cool resource Art of the Mix is.
Sorry, I meant to comment on this mix a few days ago, but AOTM was having technical problems for a while.
Thanks for including one of my tracks in your mix; glad I could contribute. I particularly like tracks 5 and 14-16.
Will definitely seek out more music by Rick Holmstrom.

Muzag's contribution is incredible. and the Mark Petruccelli-Nest of Vipers-April 20-Michael Cook run was also a highlight for me.
Sam - Happy Holidays to you and your clan.
Sorry, I completely missed this one...looks GREAT!!
This is REALLY cool. And I have to say, I was listening to some pretty mundane stuff until i discovered AOTM five years ago. Changed my life! :)
