Comment:

A lightning-quick/completely on-the-fly "for the hell of it" mix to round out the year. Thanks to lo-fi for the Exuma track, SwankQueen for the Barry Adamson track, and Pop Kulcher for the "defeating the purpose mix" version of the Flaming Lips track. Title by Mr. Johnson.

Enjoyed my preview of this, Love the 2-3 transition and the Monster Magnet and Anita O'Day tracks were new and exceptionally interesting to me.

Fucking awesome for a quick one there, mister! Whole thing looks fantastic. I'm especially fond of that Monster Magnet track. One of my favorite "oh my god, why have I not heard this before" discoveries of the year. So badass.

Looks good, master Conroy. We all know that you can compile mixes in the deepest stages of sleep, and they'd still turn out better than half the stuff posted here. Hope you and the whole Conroy clan have a fantastic new year with plenty more FTHOI mixes in 2007.

Lookin' pretty cool. Man, I've really gotta go rent that Daniel Johnston movie -- lotsa end-of-the-year rave reviews.

'on the fly', 'for the hell of it' - expressions that bring to mind the gritty dare-devil spirit of John Wayne. The Cave / Adamson collaboration is one of the few tracks i'm familiar with. Happy New Year!

This is 33%- I like 33% - I'm not sold on and 33% I don't know. I'm trusting it works though. Have a great '07 Rob.

I admire the bravery of your "for the hell of it" stance. I am unable to do this kind of thing. Not for you the agony and wasted hours of indecision that is my making a mix experience. Perhaps you may inspire me. Though, were it so, I don't believe I could come close to matching your output, so I won't try. I know many of the tunes herein and I defer to your running order. It all seems most agreeable; and that's plenty to be going on with. Nice top and tail, by the way. Happy New Year, Rob.

A very happy New Year to you, Rob! I'm chiming in rather late here but needless to say I love the look of this - the mixes I take ages over are about the same calibre as your for-the-hell-of-it ones! Really like the ending, and actually the whole stretch from the Flaming Lips leading up to that.
