Comment:
Mostly dance and dance pop, with one each of trance, italo-house, and electropunk.
Plus, one of whatever you wish to classify "Crazy" as.
Run time 61m15s.
Highly recommended if you are going dancing,
or if you plan one hour of exercise.
The Plummet and Kathy Phillips tracks are covers of Paul Simon (1975) and Keith Whitley (1988), respectively.
I know from past feedback that such dance covers are highly prized around AOTM. (-:
Slow Dazzle is a side project of Mendoza Line. Pictured is Shannon McArdle, the
same lady who fronts the opener in the
AOTM information
for new members.
Reports say that "Love Generation" is in heavy rotation
on the London club scene.
Not that I personally have set foot in London
nor in any actual club since like forever.
Many thanks to Joe Gillis1 for the Dover track, which is probably the catchiest song of 2006.
Feedback:
what good timing, i just posted my own dance mix this week -- this looks really fun, & what i do know & what i don't know both look either enticing or interesting in their own right (though i could do without the scissor sisters). great job here
this looks hot
Hot and sweaty in a good way. How about a trade so I can try this gem out in the gym?
By Jiminy, this is a good 'un. It's a whole new area of quirkiness and grooviness for me to explore. I know it is often said, and often ignored (more's the pity), but the truth is I really would love a copy of this. Don't ask why, just make it so. We'll all feel better afterward.
i like the title and the mix looks interesting but i find the images distracting.
Only know 4 artists here but a Dance Styles Sampler definitely sounds like a great idea.
Unusual for aotm. Good stuff.
just let me put on my dancin' shoes... I like seeing the cover art w/ the songs. it's only too bad you don't have pics for all of them.
It's been in the low 30s at night out here in LA, (I know, poor things...) looks great for shaking off the frost!
Interesting Mixxer, very. As has been said-not the usual fare for AotM but I know you know your stuff. Now DANCE!
This looks interesting. I wish I knew more tracks beyond the original of the Roxy and the Scissor Sisters to actually comment intelligently...
Very cool and very clever Ed! Some great tracks here, notably the Bob Sinclair and CSS. A few I don't know ( I'd love to hear tk 2 ). Actually I'd love to hear this mix full stop. Hint... :)
I'm not much of a dancer and I have an aversion to excercise. but this looks pretty well swell. I like seeing the cover art -- very high tech!
Sweeeeet. Track 9 was a shocker.
This looks like SO much fun! Really sharp and extremely danceable. Agree wholeheatedly with sammy re. the Bob Sinclair and CSS, and of course love the closer. Appreciate the images too!
thanks for the link, I normally don't hear this stuff unless I actually go out dancing, but I really liked tracks by Dover, Cansei de Ser Sexy, Bob Sinclair... and yes, that Magnum Dollars/Gnarls Barkley song (though my co-worker called it the biggest musical travesty of the year). I told him to shove it.
Impressive, Mixxer.
Oh, great stuff... loving your selections and the vibe you've created here. So far up my street that I can't help wondering if you've been following me home. Oh wait, you've never been to London (or so you say, at least - I have my doubts). I would absolutely love to hear the lot - any chance of link-y goodness?
Nice collection. A few of these are in my DJ carrycase Ta!
