Comment:
here's a bit of trivia: my father was a square-dance caller for the Wagon Wheelers Square-Dance Club in Yakima, Washington from the mid-'70s to the end of the '80s (the red Subaru I drove to high school even had personalized license plates that read CALLER, which made me very popular). anyway, this past summer, my dad dug up the one and only demo single he'd recorded as a "caller" in the '80s and presented me with a copy. and now I present it to you. yup, that's my pop singing there on side two along with Ben and the Boys. I think it's safe to say that this is his AotM debut. listen to sideone.

Feedback:
God, I LOVE private press material!!! But, I do believe if I dig enough, I might already have this in my collection..... ;)
Very cool and I love the Linda Ronstadt track.
Nah, I was hip to Ben and the Boys back in 2001. Typically top mix tz.
Ack!! That Robert John tune was in the NY Times crossword puzzle two Saturdays ago, I heard it in the Supermarket 2 days later, I can't get it out of my head and here it is again!!!! This must be one of the signs of the Apocalypse!
Here's another option for listening: You-Send-It Links side

gotta say that I love the production on just about all Shirley Bassey recordings . . . . this being no exception . . . . lubbly jubbly
Glad it wasn't just me then. I spent literally minutes last night trying to download part 1 with no luck. After refreshing the page countless times I suddenly struck gold and got the link. It then took 2 hours to download. Patience is a virtue, though, and this was worth the wait. I got hold of the 'Dennis Williams with Ben and the Boys' 12" on white label a couple of years ago btw...
This looks great. I'm definitely going to be downloading this one. I even like your "guilty pleasures" (my phrase for them, not yours) tracks on this one. ;-)
The Vogues, Air Supply, Shirley Bassey, even Saint-Sadns - this is wild, and that is not to mention Dennis Williams with Ben and the Boys.
(PS Saw you note, tell your co-workers to go back to their Justin Timberlake and stop complaining.)

Fantastic.
Rather splendid - i like the notes!
Hey, thanks again for the links! Great, great stuff.
From end-to-end a swingin' time. Call it out.
That is a very cool Hiroshi Wada tune! For the links, arigatoo. Tanoshiimi ni shite imasu!
Your dad kicks ass.
way damn cool
Your dad is the coolest dad on Art of the Mix. Downloading now.
Superb and wonderful!
Oh, rubbish. Not your mix, obviously - looks like a stonker - but the fact I missed it (was slowly wobbling my way down a mountain on a snowboard when you posted this). Damn those file-sharers and their accursed time limits. Well, looks ace, and if you were to *ahem* re-post this, perchance, there'd be one happy listener here. And how cool is your dad?
Nice mix and notes.
Liking the look of both sides of this mix.
Thanks so much for putting this back up again. A treat indeed - hugely enjoyable, and the effort is much appreciated!
