Comment:
My uncle Daryl and I have traded mix tapes/CDs since I was a kid, he has had as big an influence on my musical journey as anybody. I remember one tape I put some George Jones on it and Daryl complained of it being "too country." I said "too country! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't even like country music!" But his country tended towards the long-haired hophead variety, as witnessed here.I have been sending him some of my latest mixes and after he said he didn't find too many stand-out songs for him, I realized it was also time to get back to basics, back to the music that really is me (similar to my Garden series). And it gives me an excuse to introduce him to "Modern Times" framed with some sweet tunes. Pass the pipe...
Feedback:
Lots of really great picks here. Nice one.
That is high praise coming from you, sir.
That is actually a very respectable looking mix.
Hooray for the Rick Danko track! What a beauty! And Lonesome Suzie - Richard Manuel makes me cry and I love him for it. Great taste!
