In the wake of a surprising and undeserved defeat at Arsenal, I turned to this "all new", shiny (in fact "Golden") offering from mix-god SammyG. I needed solace and re-affirmation that there was a spark of justice in this world. I need not have worried. Sammy's magical musical weavings have restored the roses to my cheeks. A bang-on melange of mellifluous melodies to soothe the soul and rinse the jaded spirit. The mix opens with the eerily gorgeousness that is Mercury Rev's "Simply Because" and flows onward with effortless joy and without pause to its telling Decemberist's conclusion. I won't regale/bore you with the many highlights - it's all good. I will however, sing loud the praises of the Datarock track - fabulous!FIFTY SammyG123 mixes eh? Roll on out the next fifty , Sam; I'm all ears.

Funky Folk! Hell yeah. This is, typically, quite excellent. That whole run from 12 until the end is just incredible. And, I LOVE that Clouddead track. Love, love, love it.

This looks most excellent, Sammy (but then again, you're quite predictable in that respect - can't you make a bad one every now and then for variety's sake?). Quite a few things here I don't know yet, so I'm looking forward to giving this a listen.

Fifty already? Congrats - every one a winner, in my opinion, and I hope there are many more to come. This also looks rather fab - your opening 3 are great, and I look forward to hearing the rest when not ensconced at my desk. I haven't checked out Mr Albarn's latest project as yet - something to do this week...

another great piece of work, Sam. really like Impac, Van Dyke Parks, The Ark, El Perro Del Mar, Espers... my favorite though is the Wild Beasts track. I hope we're both still posting 'till we're 90 years old.
