Comment:

A brand new mix. Hmm. The Here Comes Another Single Mix. I guess. It was not a good year for albums. Without a doubt, singles ruled like they have not done so in a very, very long time. But there was one album I heard that was beginning to end goodness in one of those every track is fine with me modes. And that was released by Camera Obscura. Utterly beautiful. Sweet without being syrupy. David Lynch would love to make a musical with this band. So this is pop. A feel good thing. That's all. And that's a good thing. Oh, the final track is a surprise from the second season of Twin Peaks. For you fans of that show, it's worth a listen. Presented in 96 kbps WMA and 256 kbps formats. If your listening ability is compromised by this site for any reason, head over to www.jonpoi.org to get this and your fill of the entire series of Tales of the Proverbial 2nd Chance.

I have, but have not listened to that Camera Obscura, album. Currently, listening to the Phoenix Album of last year, which is pretty good pop, in my estimation. This mix looks like a far better listen, though. But, alas, I must wait to go home to listen.

Not a good year for albums? Might be. For me, mp3s are taking part of the fun of listening to something withour previewing it. Yet, I agree with the Camera Obscura comment. I've been enjoying it lately. I'm even tempted to fly to MTxico D.F. when they visit the country, even if I know I'm not going. Great stuff, as usual.

Yep, I agree with you re the Camera Obscura album. And tk 8 on this mix was probably my single of the year. Graet stuff on here, not least the XTC, Squeeze and Brian Wilson choices. A Winner!

Hey
Really digging your Camera Obscura choices. Super upset I had to miss one of their recent shows. A spear to the heart. Also liking the XTC, they have some good covers of them out there as well. Also to the comment you left me. Of montreal are very fun a quirky with some interesting intellectual vocab which is refreshing. I'm checking them out in March, I'll let you know how they perform.

Great stuff - the C/O album was indeed one of the year's best for a lot of people, judging by all the praise below. Also liking your XTC, Yukari Fresh and April March picks.

Singles/albums/mp3s and so on and so on. It matters not. The songs sing out, the listener rejoices, and all is as it should be. It's particularly groovy when mixed by your good self, Jon. This is the proof of Indeep's assertion: "There's not a problem that (Jon) can't fix, Cos (he) can do it in the mix, in the mix, in the mix... The owl's are not what they seem indeed.
