Curtis Burns, Where Are You?
Comment:
for King Curtis. This is my third (yes, the Allstars was one big egomaniacal, narssasistic work of fiction) mix in honour of one of my favourite mixers, who, sadly, has not shown his talents 'round these parts of late (not in '07 at any rate). Here's hoping he comes out of the woodwork with another stellar mix soon.Feedback:
Hehe, a great title for a cool mix! I like #1&2 especially.
Track six track six track six oughta bring him back back back.
Nice Trane and Dolphy picks. Boy, you really cover some ground.
If this doesn't bring him out of the woodwork, then I don't know what possibly could. Most excellent.
Though I can't say with any degree of verifiable accuracy, my first attempt at ascertaining the whereabouts of the mysterious and elusive Mr. Burns (a.k.a. the Curbruiner) would be to put the hypothesis that he is, in fact, at this very moment, expertly navigating the back-roads of Northern New Jersey (despite our fresh & recent flurry of icy winter precipitation) bundled up, mix firmly embedded in the dashboard, with his mixological hand deftly gripping the wheel of that equally mysterious automobile of ancient television history and fame... Car 54.
Should one not find him there, one could always take a look-see here. And, BTW, I would also like to say that I am quite fond of your smashing array of artists, listed above.

As usual I know zilch here but I doff my hat & wonder, too, the where abouts of Mr. Burns.
Love the execution here.
Burns is an enigma. always has been. The mix, on the other hand, looks like one he'd enjoy.
