Comment:

Meant to upload this on Valentines Day, but AOTM chrashed. Maybe that was just as well, because this isn't your typical VD mix. I scoured my collection for songs about love gone bad that I hadn't already included on similar mixes (My early '60s mix of "Songs of Love in Shades of Blue" and "The Love I Lost" mix). Seems I have quite a few songs like that and these are what I consider to be the best of the rest.

Most of these songs are from the '60s, but there is one song from '57 and six from 1970-77.

The songs are available as a one file mp3 mix (link on first song title) or a zip file with the individual mp3 files for each track (link on 2nd song title). I wanted to mix in an instrumental or two (such as "Mrs Robinson" by Booker T and the MGs, but I didn't have the room for it). Hope this isn't too much of a downer to all you sunshiny, optimistic lovers out there.

A very needed mix to get away from all those corny love-fools that rub it on us loners these days. I was planning something similar, with artists from the last two decades, but couldn't get my lazy ass to do it. Top choices and mixing, as usual.

There's nothing like a sad song to make you feel better when you're down. After listening to these, I feel ec-flipping-static! Great choices and thanks for the download.
