Comment:
The latest ultra-quick "for the hell of it" mix (it was made from scratch in less than three hours). Thanks to SwankQueen for familiarizing me with the Bongwater canon--I can't get enough of their material right now--and with Raymond Scott. Title from Mr. Cave's new cranking ensemble.Feedback:
jesus, i couldn't put a mix together that quickly if you paid me -- nevermind make it as listenable as this. looks great, rob, lots of good stuff abound...
Way to let it fly. Especially like 5,13,16-17.
I enjoy a little self-love myself from time to time
Hurrah for inpromptu for the hell of it mixes. I've made 4 this week but I'm reluctant to let any get past quality control. Perhaps I'll wait until I have 10 and post 'em all at once as that seems to be all the rage at the minute ;) Looks killer Rob, love the Screaming Trees track.
The Johnston - Screaming Trees run looks devastating. Intriqued by the Scott/Henson and Baby Huey tracks and am dying to hear the Grinderman disc.
DSlek > Joy Division > Beat Happening is inspired.
Love it. Hear soon???
This is right up my alley, good sir. I'm with Mark on the Johnston->Screaming Trees run (also one of my very fav ST tracks). I've also been digging that Grinderman disc. (love the Eric Burdon segue into that track, btw). Oh yeah, that Amy Winehouse song is pretty rad, as well. Super-cool mix, as usual.
Firstly I'm impressed at your speed! I tend to let things stew for too long, I think. Maybe an experiment needs to be carried out... As for the mix itself, I really like the Beat Happening and Daniel Johnston -> Howlin' Wolf transition - a really nice little collection of tracks overall!
2, 3, 5, 12, 16 & 19 do it for me. Excellent collection Rob.
Cool. Must have been some good scratch. Recently discovered the charms of Ms. Winehouse. Hard to believe she's not a 60 year old Black woman after hearing that voice.
Beautiful, beautiful collection indeed! Heres, a lot of stuff i love, like DSlek, Joy Division, Howlin' Wolf, Venetian Snares, Screaming Trees.
Great - Especially love the 16-19 stretch!!
Particularly diggin' 9 and 16 here.
A good-un. Yes I'm pleased to see Wine-o getting an appearance too!
truth is, I don't know much here. but I sure like the Screaming Trees, Joy Division and Beat Happening you've included... and I'm willing to bet Daniel Johnston followed by Howlin' Wolf makes a nice sound.
"it was made from scratch in less than three hours" -- and that's were I heave a great sigh and shuffle off to Buffalo.... It's a great mix, Rob. I am not worthy, etc. "LESS THAN THREE HOURS"! Mutter, mutter, grumble, grumble...
Fantastic opening three. I use to love track 18 quite a bit but haven't listened to it years... perhaps I'll dust out Sweet Oblivion....
Really dig that Amy Winehouse tune but the mix sounds great overall, so far (I'm not through it entirely yet).
