Restorative!
This looks fantastic, Alex. I'm sure she'll love it. Some great titles and intriguing artists!
some cool stuff here -- this would definitely enhance my mood immediately. i'll try to check out the whole thing soon...
And what a tonic this is, I will read my morning papers to this , probably quite a few times.
Got the day off...and I'm DIGGING this. You have such a great perspective in regards to choosing and sequencing music. Completely enjoyable, intriguing and rewarding listens, time after time. Much thanks!!!!And, that ending trio on side 2 is the work of genius, imho.
Love it. What a great track for an opener - it's been ages since I heard Ralph McTell.
brilliant
Ok, so Blondie into Tennessee Ernie Ford is my new favorite transition ever. Nice Rawls and Strawbs picks also.
love it, though i do miss your zips
So, the bohannons miss your zips eh? I don't think I want to know any more. Alex, after an afternoon digesting this mix I can honestly say It's up there in the top 3 of your mixes. And that is saying something. Loved the Mctell opening, OMD & Lou Rawls along with the Tennesse - Cocteau stretch. Baby liked the Ethel Smith & Zvuki Mu ( she was kicking away! ). Vic loved each & every track. Wonderful, thankyou :)
Okay, so far I've only listened to the first half, but it's just so damn good I had to comment immediately in case the site goes down or something. I think Sammy's analysis is right on the money -- this one ranks right up there with Hexisea Bidentata and Caramba. The Judy Lynn -> M Ward and the Blossom Dearie -> Della Reese stretches are especially gorgeous. And I love the bonus track... I used to put stuff like that at the end of my tapes. In closing, I think the forlorn recipient of this mixtape will be knee deep in daisies by the end of side one. It sure worked for me!
Congrats, Mixer Name!!!
Congrats on MOTW! This looks great.
Great work, and worthy of all the praise and the MOTW honors. I'm sre the recipient feels a whole lot betta!
I just finished listening to this mix and can report that I am, indeed, feeling better, and have very little doubt that it had the same effect on the original recepient. Congratulations on the very well-deserved MotW title, too!
Woo-hoo! Congrats Alex. Richly deserved.
Muy bueno esto, Alex.
This is tremendous, good sir, and I'm with the others on its ranking high in your personal canon. Hell, even your token "guilty pleasure" pick (Blondie) is a fine song! ;-)
I've only listened to the second half thus far, but it was so electrifying I had to take a break before I have a seizure. I'm nutty as a fruitcake over "Clapping Hands", "Happy Go Lucky Me", "Vino Una Ola", "Vente Conmigo", "Sweet Leilani", and "Oh How She Changed". Congratulations on a well-earned mix of the week!
Congrats on making MOTW. :)
I nearly missed this one, so nice one Sammy for the MotW nomination and felicitations to you Alex.
Outstanding - congrats indeed. Ah... and I do feel better.
I really dig this one. It's all over the place stylistically, but still cohesive. Good stuff.
That M. Ward song is so pretty, and sounds so good with your other stuff. Congrats, and warm thoughts to the recipient. You are the Puget Soundmaster.
Bravo!!! Sincere congratulations tornadoZ!
The cover art itself is enough to put a smile on my face.
Yup, quite marvellous. MBV-Lou Rawls is good enough for me.
Richly deserved as stated by Barrydali.
