Comment:

Mix #10 for the glory that is SwankQueen. She has had a truly awful year thus far and this mix, probably more than any of the others I've posted, is designed to add a breath of cheer to her universe. Although she requested the Snoop song (which I heard for the first time when I LEGALLY downloaded it the other day), I've really grown to like it (I've always been ambivalent about Snoop) and really enjoyed including it here. Title by Mr. Calvin Johnson.

The opening salvo down to Frank is killer, as is the Big Star, Wolf, Dylan, ZZ, Bo Diddley and the Van is just brilliant. The muse is in full force.

i was just recently kicking around the idea of using "she's a woman" myself. obviously, i love the big star & dylan picks -- but the closing 20-23 stretch is brilliant, & the r.e.m., billy bragg & sinatra stand out as well. superb as usual, though i'll have to be convinced, as well, with snoop...

Johnson, Broadus, how many Calvins can you put in one mix? This looks right cool, brother.

Nice, I echo the mighty tornado's comments re: Beat Happening & Nina and of course his sentiments regarding your other half.

No bad mood can withstand the pure unadulterated power of Beat Happening. I hope the lovely queen feels better, and I'm sure she appreciates your musical attentions.

It's great Rob but I think you're being a bit ambivalent about your feelings. Don't hold back, man. Great Snoop track, and brilliantly placed next to Nina too.

Now that you've grown to like track 14, you must put those pimp lights under your bitchin' Camaro. Thanks for cheering me up on such a winter's day! Love the Beat Happening and Bob Dylan especially.
