Comment:
This bastard took ages to nail, of late, I seem to get half way through mix ideas and then it all falls apart, consequently I've heaps of half finished mixes on the go. Figured I'd gone as far as I could with this un so called time on it before it drove me even more insane! Thanks to Valis for hipping me to 'Lions In The Street,' fantastic riffs reminiscent of the Stones in their heyday.
Feedback:
Cool. I really dig the Howlin' Rain, Gruff Rhys and Sparklehorse tracks.
Looking out my window I see its snowing hard, and I shudder. Looking at this mix however makes me smile....
Really cool, and quite a ride - I have to say that I actually really liked reading about the "mixing process" in your liner notes too! Love most of the trakcs here, but particularly the Drive By Truckers in the middle there, Seafood and needless to say Gruff Rhys track (as I am in love with Gruff Rhys, but that's a whole 'nother story). Great stuff.
Great stuff, especially the 8,9,10 stretch.
I wish I couldn't relate to the liner notes as much as I can. As for the mix, not much that I know here, but I'm sure you did a great job.
The Little Ones & Pop Levi are 2 of my 'New Favourite Bands'. And this is my 'New Favourite Mix'..
Didn't think anything could be that cover-art.Until...I read the tracklisting. Just awesome! Definately my kinda mix.
I would like to hear this one? May I, please?
this looks pretty damn cool -- love that broken west track especially...
Not much I know here but I, with almost everyone else it seems, can relate to your notes.
Not familiar with some of this but the stuff I know I really like. Great mix, Cliff.
Sheesh what a cover !looks like a belter despite your wankers cramp, I mean mixers block!
...being part & party to your insanity rather fills me with...
inertia.
inertia.
(good-lookin' mix though, from those I know.)
Mainly unknown to me (apart fom Gruff Rhys - and I share Siobhan's crush) - but I recognise is damn good.
"reminiscent of the Stones in their heyday" Are you suggesting they are no longer in their heyday, ha, ha.
Holy SHIT, Clif. This looks totally, totally amazing and right up my alley, good sir. Clinic->Howlin' Rain, DBT, Sparklehorse, Citay and Oakley Hall all rule mightily. Very nice.
looks well worth the effort to me. 2-4,8-12, and 14,15 are within the bounds of my knowledge and they are all crackers.
Smokin'! Any mix that kicks off with the Little Ones gets a knod from me
Love it. Full of superb choices.Good job.
half finished mixes guarantee a long life??? Fine, albiet complex work here... Top marks for the cover !
Heady and hearty stuff indeed.
This is what I'm interested in trading for, if at all possible. Send me an email with your address and we'll go from there.
