Comment:

A look at the second half of 1970. The mix is available for download as a zip file of all the tracks in individual mp3 files (click on the first song title). The times were often focused on the war in Vietnam and some of these songs reflect that part of the equation (see tracks 5, 9, & 13).Some songs that didn't make the cut: Only Love Can Break Your Heart by Neil Young, Our House and Teach Your Children Well by CSN&Y, Patches by Clarence Carter, Border Song by Elton John, Something by Shirley Bassey, The Wonder of You by Elvis Presley, Cracklin Rosie or Solitary Man (charted twice) by Neil Diamond, I'm Losing You by Rare Earth, I Who Have Nothing by Tom Jones, It's Only Make Believe by Glen Campbell, and Hello Darlin' by Conway Twitty. The picture is of a 1970 Dodge Charger which came with an optional super duper hemi engine.

Another great year (or half year as it may be). 1,2,4,5,8,14,16,17,18,20 and 21 all bring back fond memories.

Lots here I'm unfamiliar with. Love that opening quintet, though. Alongside the Who & Charles Wright.

I was a sophmore in high school and these are spot on.
