Comment:

And now, the exciting sequel to The Joy Of Segues... I guess this is what Rob Conroy might call a "for the hell of it mix" -- no theme, no planning, just a lot of stuff I happened to have lying around or been listening to lately. A few new releases (love the new Apples In Stereo cd! Go buy it NOW! And more silky goodness from the hypnotic Lovers!) and a few chestnuts that have been in recent rotation at the ol' Pop Kulcher homestead. Plus Amy Rigby's "Balls," because at the moment I think it's the greatest song in the history of the universe and I pledge to include it on every mix I ever make, or at least those that are balls-themed. And, just because it's fun, it's all cross-faded, which is a pain in the ass to do and means I can't recycle the tracks from this on another mix, but it's the next best thing to reliving my old dj'ing days.

Many thanks to Rob for the Libertines and the fine Cale closing track, Dale for the Teardrop Explodes & Chris Knox, my bud Mike for the Jayhawks (sappy track but so damn purty), and the supercool Barbara Manning for setting me up with an unreleased gem.

Lots of great stuff on this and I agree with Apples In Stereo statement but everyone know that it is Amy Rigby's All I Want that is "the greatest song in the history of the universe" at this particular instant.

Really cool! I've always wanted to try doing a mix with segues to remind me of my college radio days, but alas I don't have the proper software. So you're pals with Barbara Manning?! Neat-O! I'm a big fan, though her directions to the San Diego Zoo are all wrong on the 6ths CD. I ended up in Mexico.

I'll be honest with ya here - I should think segueing is a lot of fun to do & i sort of wish i could segue too but I do not enjoy listening to segued mixes. Maybe I'm alone in this but I like to hear a song finish and end with a pause between tracks. Despite the seques, what I like I like a lot!

Nice that Rob gave you that Livbertines track, but that's the way we should do, great stuff

This is really awesome. If I had the software to do segues I would (yes, I'm that technologically behind). Love so much on this - the Death Cab, Chris Knox, Teardrop Explodes...great cover art too.
