Comment:

This is a tribute to one of the sites' top mixers and a guy whom I'm happy to call a good mate. Check out the closing tune folks - yes, that's right, it's the man himself. Hope you don't mind me using that track Barry, if I'd asked permission first it would have spoiled the surprise but let me know and if you'd prefer the mix will be heard by none but thee and I. Have to say I'm delighted with the way this one turned out, some of the segues flow so smooth particularly January into H.o.L. I rarely wax lyrical about new discoveries but I have to make an exception re the opening band, The Dreadful Yawns self titled album is spectacular and I'd go so far as to say it's the best album I've heard in 2 decades! It really is an album that has grabbed a hold of me and won't let go and it just gets better the more I play it. Check em out you won't be disappointed. Finally I'd just like to say a big cheers to all you guys out there who provide me with more enjoyment than I could ever thank you for. Life in the depths of the French countryside is great but I miss being able to talk music face to face with kindrid spirits, therefore I'm indebted to you all for providing me with my musical fix. Long live AotM.

I'm speechless mate. Thanks for this, it looks wonderful. The last track??? Christ on a bike man, thank god nobody else is going to hear it thats all I can say. I believe those Dreadful Yawns have a new release out too called The Rest which I'm anxious to hear. I will have to seek out this debut though.

This mix looks very much worthy of its addressee, and obviously that's saying something.

Well that is terrific, and an excellent tribute for a friend who has added so much to our community of mixers. Can you email me track 17? It would go perfectly on a mix I am making, which is on the theme of people who refuse to wear various things.

Wonderful! Excellent mix and the whole thing is made even sweeter by the lovely sentiments in the comments there. Barry very much deserves this too! Will definitely have to check out the Dreadful Yawns on your recommendation - lovely John Martyn pick too.

Beautiful! (And for a worthy and worthwhile friend, too.) So glad you've taken to the Dreadful Yawns! Great batch o' humans, too. Can never get enough of Kelley Stoltz, Mazarin, and House of Love-even if that particular release gets slighted. A lot. I'm also seemingly in competition with Mixxer with that theme of "people who.., erm.., wear things" yeah, that's the ticket. send it. :)
