Comment:

I've been listening a lot lately to Theme Time Radio Hour, Bob Dylan's satellite radio show. Of course, it's hard to listen to an episode without thinking of your own choices for that theme - so I've been putting together my own mixes; this is my take on the theme for his 20th show, "Musical Map." I'm trying not to repeat his selections, but I had to include "I've Been Everywhere" - he used Hank Snow's version, so I opted for Johnny Cash. Mix title from Dylan's "Last Thoughts on Woody Guthrie." (You can find Dylan's playlists on ExpectingRain.com, among other places.) EDIT: Replaced Tinsley Ellis & the Heartfixers' cover of "Hong Kong, Mississippi" with Bo Diddley's original.

Very cool, my own effort on this theme seems to have stalled. Great JB, Mississippi John, Flatlanders, Jordan, Waits, Lucinda and Johnny Cash tracks.

My friend was really into his programme for a while and kept on telling me to check it out. By lookinmg at this mix, I know I should have listened sooner. Real cool mix.

The Misfit goes mano a mano w/ Mr Tambourine Man himself! I don't know what Bob did with this theme, but I doubt it was as well-crafted as this.

Fantastic. Really well thought-out and carefully put together. Love the Rambling Jack Elliott and think your Johnny Cash choice is great.
