Comment:

I know, I've used a lot of these artists on other mixes recently (although none of the same songs, to my recollection), so this may look redundant, but what can I say, the musicians here are that terrific. I can't get enough. I really wanted to use Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" and the song "Way Back into Love" from the film "Music & Lyrics", but they didn't seem to fit in with the rest, stylistically. They'll appear on other near-future mixes, though...basically all I was doing here was combining my love of gorgeous indie pop, thrilling rock music, and flavorfully pensive "out on the open road"-type songs. Basically, my usual M.O. Above all, though, as always, it's simply 25 achingly wonderful songs. A few notes:
I thought that cover by Of Montreal would be just nothing special, but I find myself craving it now whenever it's not on. I am 100% addicted.
I'm not trying to score points by using a bunch of obscure indie bands like Pleasure, Maia Hirasawa, etc. I just found them somewhat recently and have big crushes on their music.
And I'm not going the trendy route by featuring Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, or the Arctic Monkeys - just that with their new releases causing a fuss lately, I had to check them out for myself to keep informed (not that I don't like the bands - they're all solid, just not burning passions in my music oeuvre), and found myself expectedly satisfied with what they have to offer these days. Good times.
Meanwhile, the Vincent Black Shadow are turning out to be one of the more dynamic discoveries I've made of late, Rodrigo y Gabriela are still blowing me away, Apples in Stereo made a gloriously rapturous comeback (which I haven't documented much on my mixes so far, but I have a plan), and that Charlotte Hatherley song is just plain awesomeness. 'Till next time... :)

I agree with you on the Apples in Stereo. That aside, lots here that has escaped my notice; I'd better start doing some sampling.
