What We Do...is Secret?
Comment:
I make mix-CDs for a friend of mine, usually every 2 months, to catalogue the things I've been listening to and hopefully turn him on to a few things he hasn't heard. I went travelling for most of last year, so since returning I agreed to play catch-up and make two discs for him, putting more effort into the enterprise than I ever had beforeI started working on this at the end of December, selecting what tracks would go into what disc, working out the momentum, mood, etc. and spending a torturous week (!) finalising the tracklisting alone, which was more difficult than normal given the slightly ecclectic mix. Some of the tracks have been edited in one way or another (usually clipping out silence, but in some cases I have played God and altered it wherever I felt appropriate) for the sake of the overall flow and to make it fit snugly onto an 80 minute CD.
The entire thing is available for download and hope someone out there might give it a listen and enjoy it.
Part Two will follow soon.
Thanks...

Feedback:
Seems very nice. MediaFire won't allow me to download, tho.
fortunately, MediaFire let me through... and this is one fine mix. some of my favorite recent music is by artists at tracks 3,8,11 (in fact, I just put "Knife" on a mix I made last night) - and I dig the Micah P. Hinson, Caetano Veloso, Bat For Lashes too. The organs backing the Arcade Fire track are wonderful, as is that Church cover by Grant Lee Phillips, and especially that amazing version of "Higher Ground" by Ellen McIlwaine. thanks for sharing this; I'm looking forward to volume 2.
I just used that P:ano track on a mix I made a few days ago. Excellent choice there, and not too shabby on the others (though, there are a few I haven't heard).
Love the Alfie, P:ano and Beirut songs.
Thanks for the kind comments!
The download seems to be still working perfectly fine - I've tried it out on two different computers, so I'm not sure what happened there!

Great mix and great cover. Nice to see Alfie on AotM. Love the 'Hands' tracks, Caetano Veloso and Ellen M. Fantastic opener as well..
