Comment:
a good friend of mine just came by and we had tea and i made her this mix according to my interactive mixmaking rules. what are my interactive mixmaking rules?rule number one: you do not talk about interactive mixmaking. just kidding. rule number one: invite someone over, maybe for some tea. rule number two: ask him or her for twenty words that spontaneously come to his or her mind. rule number three: build a mix around them. it's simple and it's fun.here are the words for this mix:01) tree02) sun03) bird04) blossom05) creek06) light-blue07) clouds08) pink09) tulip10) fishes11) cheetah12) bees13) ducks14) sunrise15) buds16) owl17) swim18) read19) friends20) candlesmy friend mentioned that she wanted to have a pet cheetah, hence the title/cover. i know, this isn't an adequate substitute at all, but at least you don't have to feed this disc and it won't bite you... hard ;-)
Feedback:
so does the song have to have the word in it or the title, or just make reference to it? i'll have to try this sometime.
Very cool.
Very cool concept. Love the results. And, very cool artwork.
Yeah. This is a great idea and fine looking mix. did you moirAc the cheetah?
basically there are no restrictions as to which song you can use for a specific word... the words are just some kind of guideline which you can, but don't necessarily have to follow... something to stir your imagination if you will. i associate certain ideas/images with certain words when i hear them; then i scan through my music library and see if there's any song that kind of fits to that idea/image. of course this doesn't work every time, but then i just choose a song i like that has a reference in the title/lyrics/band name etc... it's fun to look at the mix afterwards and think about why you chose the particular songs... it's kind of a secret that just you and the mix share ;-) alright, now i start to talk complete nonsense, so i better stop. thanks for your comments so far, i appreciated them.
@blasikin: i did what to that poor animal??no, seriously: it's a picture i scanned from a pharmacy magazine for kids which my friend brought me. the scanner is kind of old and does the funny looking graphic effects all by himself (god only knows how and why), so all the credit for the artwork goes to him.
The dot process of the printed image with the scanning resolution and angle the image is placed on your scanner makes an interference pattern. cool how it matches the cheetah. I wan't implying anything... ( :
That mix idea sounds really fun. Sort of the thing you like to do when bored, you know?
What kind of tea were you drinking (that has nothing to do with anything at all, but it popped into my mind so now I want to know)

Cool idea, love the Rilo Kiley and Magnetic fields picks.
is this mixmaking? or is it free association, as in psychotherapy?! :) in either case, very fun, i bet i'd like to do this sometime...
Great idea, and some fine choices. Thanks for the links, look like a Grand listen...
Nice concept :)
Really like 13 & 17.
