Comment:
I promised LittleSpencerBoys a mix of my favorite Acapella artists and I had so many favorite songs, I had to put them on two CDS. Tracks 1-7 are fun contemporary songs that represent the spirit of Acapella. Tracks 8-22 are covers of oldies songs representing the 1950's thru the 1980's. Part 2 features the ballads and the sillier side of Acapella. I love how all of the groups have such a different style and sound. Voca Motion The Coats, and Rockapella have only four-five members each, while the Men's Octet has eight, and the Stanford Fleet Street Singers and Artists In Resonance have up to 15. The mixes have a lot of songs by The Coats (formally The Trenchcoats)because they were the reason I first got into Acapella music. The UC Men's Octet and Artists In Resonance are both Acapella groups from UC Berkeley and if you ever get the opportunity to see them perform "love Shack" and "Heartbreaker" live, I highly recommend the experience!Feedback:
it's a capella fever at AotM! a great-looking set. re: "Heartbreaker," do you mean the Pat Benatar hit? that would be amazing. (I hope to God it's not the '80s Dionne Warwick tune you're talking about.)
wonderful, wonderful wonderful! I can't wait to get my hands on this! Lets ALL have an acapella party!
Nicely done. "Video Killed the Radio Star" must be a kick when done in voices only.
This looks pretty cool.
Great stuff, although I couldn't do an a capella mix without the Bobs.
Another great job! The ivy college acapella groups here in the East are also great to hear, although they change members just about every year. There was a CD produced titled "Wasting Our Parent's Money" that I've yet to find locally.
I'm an AiR (Artists in Resonance) alum and was googling for something else before coming across this. Thanx for the props! :D
