This is frickin' tremendous, good sir. I'm with Frenchy on side one, in particular.
Teenage Fanclub, Nancy & Lee, B-52s, The Cure... a nice way to start the morning. I like that you still use cassettes too.
Nice one Cyril !
Shonen Knife, Love, B-52s, Ike & Tina, The Byrds...all do it for me. Viva L'Analogue!!! [DJ Karen Adams]
Fun.
This is tip top stuff right here. I'm just a grinnin' like loon at the list of upbeat musical delights before me. I do believe I shall recreate this joyful little puppy for my own nefarious purposes (in the absence of links and/or trades.) It really is a great collection -- I can't get "She Bangs The Drum" out of me head now -- thanks for that :)Furthermore, and not illogically you may concur, I find myself singing "Good Morning Starshine! It's not on the mix, but that's what the whole thing suggests to me -- and that's just fab -- well I think so.What a pity you chose to put this on a cassette, ha ha!. You obviously like this medium. That is your prerogative. I have thousands of the little buggers stashed away in various dusty locations; I even have four (count `em) cassette recorders and players. I cling to this "ancient", and incredibly wonderful in its day, technology because of my old collection and/or of folks like yourself, who might (in my dreams) bung me some music recorded on cassette tape. However, I cannot conceive of a time when I would ever record anything upon such an inferior medium again. It's 2007, the choices we have are many and various, and in every case far exceed the cassette tape in audio quality, convenience of playback and longevity.I realise that I am knocking upon a locked door here. You enjoy yourself in any way you see fit. Why on earth should you take any heed of some smug git with a rod up his arse about cassette tapes - I mean they've served you well for 40 years or more. Well, I am often wrong about things; and I have no objection to this being pointed out to me. In the case of cassette tapes though, I am right, I am so right it's almost self-evident. So go ahead, Bear, do your worst, for when you persist with cassettes that is indeed what you are doing. Good luck to you.
Engaging!
