Comment:
My fiance and boyfriend of almost 8 years and I split up in August. After moping around for several months, I finally started to feel good and so I wanted a post-breakup mix that wasn't too sad and was more upbeat. This does the trick. While some songs are about him getting his, I also threw in some like (Glendora and You Oughta Know) that have personal meaning to our relationship. As for Duncan Sheik, I adore him. And while Barely Breathing is NOT my favorite song by him, it fits in with the rest for an upbeat post-break up mix.Feedback:
glendora, sleep to dream and ex-girlfriend are all great post breakup pop songs (some of my favorites!), but with three fiona apple songs it kinda stops being a "mix."
I agree about the Fiona songs. Some people will say you shouldnt put more than one song by any artist on a mix, but sometimes I'll put two the most. Its your mix though :)
There are no rules, if it feels good-do it.
Rules, who needs em? If it works for you, then that's all that matters. Onwards and upwards here on in eh.
Cake's version of "I Will Survive" is a guaranteed pick-me-up!
