Comment:
This is my thorough re-working of a single-artist mix from six years ago with which I was never previously satisfied. These fellas are one of my thirty favorite bands of all-time--enveloping, hallucinogenic, heart-stoppingly gorgeous, throbbingly propulsive, unsettling (often all at once)--and I think this version finally does them justice. Despite the relatively small amount of records that they released in their time together, there are enough great songs in their catalog that this could have been a double-disc set. Last tracks cut: "How Does It Feel?," "Come Down Softly to My Soul," "Just to See You Smile," "Rollercoaster," "Come Down Easy," "Che," and "Transparent Radiation."Feedback:
Not familar with these guys Rob so I will have to check it out.
i'm with terry on this one -- i've actually been meaning to check into these fellas, as i hear their praises sung quite often, so this may just be my incentive to do so...
Brilliant stuff, Rob. I'm a fairly recent convert to these guys (over the last 3 or 4 years) but all of their material is right up my alley.
Count me not amongst Terry and Anthony here Rob. I love L.O.V.E this band. And the mix is beautiful. 2,4,8,9, & 12 being my personal faves here...
Another band I've been meaning to discover. Might we add this to the pile?
Gosh, another education from our good man, Rob. I don't think I have heard these fellows either, and they rate pretty high on Rob's list. Time to check them out.
I'm with Sammy here. Haven't spun a Spacemen 3 track for too long so I'm off to remedy that immediately.
Oooh, "throbbingly propulsive"... just like you!
This is right up my alley. Great trubute. I just wish that How Does It Feel did not make the cut as it is one of my favorites by them.
I'm with you about Spacemen 3. Great stuff.
Awesome band, and great picks. Wicked mix.
Love it.
I was mad on this lot back in the day. Thanks for reminding me,I feel a Spacemen 3 morning happening.Great selection.
