Comment:

Been thinking about this one for about a year or two, but had a really hard time making it happen. I was looking for an assortment of religious/spiritual music from various rock genres and eras, avoiding the schmaltzy, with a reasonable amount of healthy skepticism thrown into the mix. Came out ok, I think (or at least as well as this nice Jewish boy is gonna do), though I had enough leftover tracks I may have to add a separate volume or revisit this down the road.

I wander in the darkness of not having heard some of these but fully embrace the divinity of several of your choices here, especially the Kinks and Velvets picks and most, most especially, this particular Stones song.

this is a really hard trick to pull off, with trying to balance the schmaltz & skepticism & all as you mentioned. as far as i'm concerned, this is an A+ -- i love just about every song here, & i especially love those bookends...

This is a fantastic mix, my friend, even though I generally have a hard time with any type of religious agenda being pushed in my direction (in music or otherwise) (not saying that *you* have a religious agenda).

I'm currently working on a similar mix. 11,12 and 22 are the only tracks we have in common. Nicely done (we'll see how different the "nice Jewish boy / lapsed Catholic perspective is.)

Another track to consider - "King of Carrot Flowers pt.2" - Neutral Milk Hotel. This is fantastic!

This is always an interesting outing. Here was my shot at it a few years back. Not much overlap. http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcontents.asp?strMixID=42266

well, I don't plan to join the god squad any time soon but, you've some nice tunes here. good to know that god inspires something other than hate and intolerance every once in a while. kudos for judee, but i gotta say - i'm no fan of that dylan song.

"Blessed are the mixmakers, for theirs is the sound of everything..." I think Jesus said that right after "Blessed are the cheese makers..." This mix is outstanding. MOTW material, for sure...
