Comment:
This CD argues for the case of Tim Armstrong as a good songwriter. It was played last weekend on the way to L.A. I think ultimately Brandon was not moved, but it did make for some good discussion. Conclusions made were that none of these songs are punk songs, they're very traditional themes of music as salvation, the utopian dancefloor or dancehall, the outside is really an inside in terms of subcultures. I think he writes good songs, especially choruses. Brandon thinks he's more roots than radical.Feedback:
"Soundsystem" has been my salvation many times. Didn't know the same guy was in all these bands. Cool.
I just listened to Soundsystem on my way to work this morning! I <3 Tim Armstrong and Op Ivy/Rancid/Transplants. Excellent mix!!
