sorry if the cover deceived you, this has nothing to do with The Sound. i just found the picture so appropriate, and i wasnt feeling plagiaristic tonight.
so, in order to truly appreciate and understand exactly WHY a song is so great, it's important to see all sides of it. covers help bring out every angle and aspect of a song, you can see the song for what it truly is, and really really get it when you look through crystal clear interpretations. some of these are really good and some are terrible, but it's important to see from all sides in order to really see what is being shown to you.
I included 2 versions of LWTUA, the original 1980 version, and the remastered (remixed even?) version from the 1995 re-re-release.
Also, the Red Version of the Swans cover is the one with Michael Gira singing.
