Comment:

This mix could also be called, "songs that accidentially became meaningful." Everyone has that list of songs they make in their head or out loud or on paper that are the official songs of whatever super special relationship they are or were in. But in relationships there are songs that sort of sneak in and become monumentuous without anyone calling them out or acknowledging it. These are all songs that were never on the official list, but just happened to be playing during crucial moments. Or something about them warranted attention during intimate moments. Comments had to be made aloud about them and it had to be a shared listening experience. The track list is arranged in a way as to sort of categorize a relationship's progression, but it's a really weird, sick relationship. The beginning songs have this sort of joy, but it's chaotic, uncontrolled. It's all supposed to be very young, like teenage love. I love you because you're weird and we're weird together and that's so freaking exciting my little heart will burst. Then suddenly you grow up, oops, and you can't be weird any more! And I love you so, I miss your weirdness, but your new friends don't like it, and you won't have me! And then I go a little nutso. But I love you darling. Then you get angry. Then you get sad. Then you get angry again. Then you reflect and say "it's time to move on." But do you? I dunno. This is definitely an exhausted look back, and the soundscape is weird. It's supposed to be kind of creepy, it's supposed to seem off balance. It's a tale of love so intense it's exhausting and makes you sick, but it's like a fucking drug. The come down just drives you nuts, and you are an emotional wreck afterwards. There is no acceptance. But I think it's more true than any other mix of sappy love songs.
