"Who watches the watchmen?" Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen is arguably the pinnacle of the comic book medium, or at least close. A friend and I, who both hold the series in very high regard, challenged each other to create a soundtrack for it. The story takes place in October of 1985, so only music released prior to that time was fair game. Likewise, we each agreed to incorporate any songs quoted or otherwise used within the story (#3,4,10,14,17). So here was my submission - nothing groundbreaking, but a fitting backdrop to the story, I think.For anyone that has any inclination toward comic books at all, and has not read Watchmen, I certainly recommend it.Feedback:

I'm also unaware of "Watchmen" but I'm aware of this being a terrific mix. Love 2,5 and 12-17 especially.
not a comic book fan, but definitely a fan of so many songs here -- the leonard cohen, nick drake, bowie, tom waits, rolling stones, elvis costello & dylan among the cream of the crop
Superb! I love Watchmen and use it regularly when people ask me why I still read comic books as I approach my 5th decade. For those of you that have not done so, hie thyself to the nearest library... they probably have it. Get it. Read it. Drink it in... One hell of an experience...And this mix is spot on...
I have no idea about the comic book series, but this is a belter of a mix ! Excellent. Far to many classics to mention, but John Cale again tonight (Yay John ! I feel a single artist mix coming on . . . )
As an afficionado of "Watchmen" I have to say this is very apt & shrewd. I hope they don't ever make a movie of it, but if they do, this should be the soundtrack.
