Comment:
Another mix to send to my long distance boyfriend.I am both proud as hell and slightly embarrassed by the tracks on this mix, but it really is a good selection both of songs that I adore and songs that hopefully will indicate how much I adore my boyfriend.
Who am I kidding? Hopefully? Hah! This mix screams "OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THAT I WANT TO EAT YOUR FACE!" Which is what I was going for. :)
Small side note: I took a huge risk putting the Jason Mraz song on here, because it's a Bright Eyes cover and my man is a giant Bright Eyes fan. I hope he won't think it's an abomination due to the fact that Jason Mraz and Conor Oberst are about as opposite as two artists could be.
Also, I *might* tweak it a bit more before I send it to him, so don't be surprised if the tracklisting changes slightly. I think I'm happy, though. A few more listens will tell the story. I *did* change the tracklisting a bit.. I removed the Dallas Green track, and I changed the title of the mix on the cd that I sent him. (It's now "our love is like the border between greece and albania"). Heh.

Feedback:
look, we already said congratulations for being in love, ok? do you have to rub our faces in it? just kidding. it's a wonderful mix. tinker if you must, but whatever you do, you leave those Trembling Blue Stars, Mountain Goats and Iron and Wine tracks alone.
*rubs your face in it*
Seriously, though, thanks. And I won't touch those tracks, because they're some of my favourites. I might move things around a bit, but that's all. I'm about to listen to it again to see if I still love the transitions, but I'm pretty sure I do.

"OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH THAT I WANT TO EAT YOUR FACE!" shouldhave been the title of this mix! There are some really great songs on here.
At least one of the songs "my man" put on a mix for me and it's a great song but later down the road after looking at his AOTM listings, I realized he has used that song on many mixes for other girls. Still, how can you not adore "Honey and the Moon"?

Oh man...don't get me started on "King of Carrot Flowers 1". Or "June on the West Coast". Or "Movies of Myself". Or "Honey and the Moon". Or that Spritualized. Or "Red Right Ankle". Or "Thirteen". Or oh yeah every other track too. This contains some of my favorite songs ever and some of the indisputable champions of romantic and/or deeply emotional modern pop music. Jason Mraz is kind of annoying, imo, but that cover he does isn't bad. It doesn't ruin Bright Eye's legacy or anything, don't worry. I'm sure Conor's cool
HAHAHA that picture makes me laugh... A LOT! the title and picture are just too, too in sync with eachother.. ha. the mix though is great. flawless almost.. not a big fan of jason mraz, but i love the rest and the closer is perfect!
I love that I am getting comments about the Jason Mraz, but no one has said ANYTHING about the top 40 cheesefest that is the hellogoodbye track. :)
Thanks for the comments, everyone. I am so filled with moosh that I think I'm making another cd, too, for my plane ride to go see my boyfriend in 2 weeks. Look out world, a romantic with a large music collection has been unleashed! Hah.

Oh, and.. the photo is an inside joke. He called me "pumpkin" early into our relationship, and I responded with "butternut squash" without even thinking about the phallic implications. I laugh very hard about that now. :)
I just made a mix for my girlfriend that reminds me of this in that it's all indie and stuff except for a Maxwell song - his cover of Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work." Ah, the songs that strike your fancy when you're in love, right?
every song here fits perfectly; the elliott smith song being my favorite of all of them. and the picture made me giggle. :]
this reminds me of the mixes i make for my boy. as for the hellogoodbye track. that's ace. made me smile in a slighly guilty pleasure way!
I'm in love with the Neutral Milk Hotel & Joseph Arthur tracks. =]
