I love b-sides too, and you've included artists that have released consistantly good non-LP flipsides (Blur, REM, Ride, J & MC, Sugar). I'd also put Lush and Swervedriver in that same company. That U2 song is one of their best.

some of my fave surprises back in the jukebox days was playing the 'b' side to the overplayed singles of the day - either the track would be a similar piece of fluff or a challenge from the artist, as if to say, 'see, i can do this too !'.
