Cheesy mix of songs you probably heard if you went to prom in 1980.Break out your blue lame' gown and click below for the full working playlist.
Feedback:
I didn't go to prom ever, but still I've heard a few of these. actually, I sometimes light candles late at night and dance alone in my room to "Heartbreaker," "Funkytown," "Ladies Night," "Emotional Rescue" and "I Wanna Be Your Lover," among others that are probably from 1981. fantastic. welcome to the site.
Thief got thrown out of the prom for repeatedly requesting Frank Zappa's "Titties & Beer". Welcome!
Lord, how I wish I attended prom in 1980. My prom wasn't until crappy ol' 2000 and I didn't even go. What a lame life. This music is cheesy-awesome. I'm making a bunch of mixes at the moment for my mom's birthday, theming them after one of those Time-Warner Soft Rock Hits comps you see on infomercials, because she was smitten with it and that's her type of music, so a lot of this is quite familiar to me at this moment. You should work for Time-Warner, you seem to make a better collage of this stuff than they do (their individual CDs are spotty). Anyway delightful blast from the past here!
Thanks for the welcome! I've been lurking through this site forever...it was long past time that I added something.
Mike - As far as Time-Warner goes, if they are willing to hire a self professed music snob with absolutely no experience, and way too much opinion, then I'm good to go...otherwise I'll have to stick to In The Mix.
Thief - Ain't no shame in Frank Zappa. Every prom could use a little T & B.
Tornado - I'm shaking my money maker to Ladies Night as we speak...well as much as one can shake said money maker while laying on her bed and typing.
