Comment:
This is for my friend, the amazing painter, sculptor, writer, critic, musician and curator David Humphrey. Recently he curated an exhibition at the EFA Gallery in New York of paintings by various artists. For this exhibition, every painting is touching and connected by the horizon line within the painting. The range of paintings includes everything between pure abstraction to more representational works. This is a mix inspired by this show that I will give to him as a thanks and also a response to him wondering what music I have been listening to lately. All the songs in this include something that has to do with some sort of horizon. Realizing that it was very hard to find any music with the word horizon (let alone any good music) I choose the songs where you can imagine the horizon and the landscape around. Like the exhibition, I thought it would be cool to close your eyes and listen, imagining you were floating through one ninety minute landscape. The first side is mostly slow and laid back, where the second side is more upbeat, weirder and fun.
