Comment:

Yes, the long-awaited, newly expanded 2-cd version... because, really, one disc just doesn't cut it. Guilty pleasure? I suppose, at least some of it. But show me someone who didn't go through a high school prog phase back in the seventies, and I'll show you someone who is lying through his teeth.

Brilliant! I absolutely love prog and have been planning a mix for some time , but have had a hard time starting. This has a lot of my favorites on it. Although Karn Evil 9 does make me cringe. Love the artwork as well. Nice job.

my momma taught me to tell the truth. 9,10, and 13 are still worth a listen.

Haha, my dad actually still listens to all of this. I just saw the Strawbs with him a couple of weeks ago--actually a very good concert.

Hells Bells, I STILL listen to this stuff. Then again I might well be old enough to be your dad. Love the Strawbs, and Camel...

I can't believe you held it to two CDs! What is the old joke about the guy visiting the tribe and hearing war drums for 25 minutes. They stop and his guide turns to tell him 'Now begin bass solo.' I like Pictures at an exhibition in all its overbloated glory and agree with Tom on 9 & 10

Only a prog mix would require two CDs for a mere twenty songs. And yes, I plead guilty to having a high school prog phase, though I never dug any deeper than Yes and Pink Floyd. That said, there's plenty here that I don't know, but you can never fault a fellow music lover's guilty pleasures. I just hope you don't get beat up by the poodle heads with the Def Leppard t-shirts.

You've just recreated my life in the late 70's. I listen to very little of this now but once in awhile.......

This in it's entirety would send me to sleep now but back in the day etc etc. Gong and Camel are pretty much all I could listen to these days.

Some of this is great (I especially like your opener), for sure, but "Karn Evil 9" has to be one of my least favorite tracks of all time by any one.

I'm not the hugest fan of prog, simply because I like 3 minute pop songs! But I've always loved the Moody Blues. And Caravan & Gong are great. Oh, and tks 5 & 15 are belting, so I reckon this mix gets a thumbs up here...

Great Soft Machine. Can't really say that I dig the rest though.

well, I never went through a high school prog phase back in the seventies, mainly because I was in grade school. what is a prog, exactly. I've been exploring Yes and Moody Blues a bit lately, so I'm afraid I could quite possibly be a late-blooming progger.

Yeah, I've never completely outgrown my '70s prog phase so a lot of this still appeals to me. Dig the Soft Machine, Yes, Crimson, Gong and Floyd especially. "Master Builder" may be the 2nd greatest song ever. What's the first you ask? Why, "Roundabout" of course :-)
