fookin' 'ell, this mix was a NIGHTMARE to make. the first side was simple enough, but then...every permutation of side deux failed to fit by 30 seconds...a slow, beautiful fade-out slides in, almost gone, and then....click. "GODDAMMIT!!" (sound of beer being knocked from sofa-side table, black fine-point sharpie skittering across floor, etc., etc.) i had to trim "afterwards (live)", "islands", "haunt me" and (most painfully) the strap's luscious remix of david holmes' "don't die just yet". this is what happens when one of your favorite bands insist on making almost every song close to 10 minutes long. sigh. i very nearly titled this thing "bloody hell, i'm cursed". i'm just glad it's done so that now i can swiftly and efficiently lose it in the car within three days and have to make another one.
