Comment:
A theme mix and a great theme it was too, this one's a mix for Helen to play in the birthing pool in about a months time.I expected that I'd need several drafts to get it absolutely right cos I wanted 'H' to give the final thumbs up to each and every tune. However, in the end there was only one track binned from 'take 1,' originally 'John Cales'- 'Half Past France' was nestled between the Ron Sexsmith and Ray Lamontagne tracks; 'H' ditched that song cos she didn't find his voice soothing enough, so the Pernice Brothers track found it's way on to the mix instead. No hidden clues are to be found re the gender of the baby cos we didn't want to be informed so no need to look for indicators in song titles or song lyrics.I'm busy working on a birth mix that's more upbeat just in case she don't feel mellow, so look for that one soon. Oh and yeh Helen came up with the title for the mix. Finally I'd just like to say to her, "May the journey's waters be ever calm."
Feedback:
Beautiful Cliff, and from my point of view the Pernice Brothers track was a great addition. Well maybe not as great as the addition coming in about a month.
love the Nina Simone rendition, and the two cats just after that. The Bench Connection. any relation? in any case, congratulations and best wishes to you both.
Congratulations on your upcoming event! Nice work to include the BoH and that CSN&Y classic.
Congrats, good sir. This looks like a very fine mix, both on its own merits and for its stated purpose.
yep, nice job. Does exactly what it says on the tin !
i LOVE the ray lamontagne & al green tracks; this looks spectacular, my good man, congratulations on the impending delivery!!
Major congrats, love the Cat Stevens, CSNY, Crowded House and Pernice tracks
Looks really nice. Best wishes for the upcoming event.
Awesome mix for an awesome event - best wishes for the upcoming festivities. I'll always love that Cat Stevens song.
great one. that pernice brothers tune is on a mix i'm currently putting together. love that al green one, too.
Very nice. I'm sure Helen and the little one will love this. A great opener, and I love the Cat Stevens track. I could follow everyone by saying 'Love the Al Green cut' but truth be known I don't know that particular one. Will check it out though. But I dig the Pernice Bros track. Infact that 16-21 is damn near perfect.
Ava says hi to the forthcoming addition by the way :)

Sweet mix. Congrats on the baby to be! Can't help but thinking "shark attack imminent" from the cover, but it could be my last mix...
Nice one Cliff. I like the two Cat pairings. Awesome Al Green pick.
How did I miss this? Hmm? Anyone?Anyhoo, looks like a fine way to come into this world. Best wishes and prayers.
I'm wondering how I missed this, too! This mix certainly looks worthy of the occasion, which obviously says a lot. Best wishes to you, Helen and the new addition to the family.
