first, to explain the title of the mix: for about 8 years now, i've been making these impulsive mixtapes called "small fry + senior alike". i just keep calling them this. i like the sound of it; almost akin to really cornball 1950's-style advertising-speak. "hours of chewing pleasure for small fry and senior alike!!", you know? this one's a bit heavy on the scottish-guitar-army akshun, sure, but it works, i think. i'm listening to it (it was birthed back in february '98) as i post this; the tape is old, it's been banging around my car for a couple of years now, and the sound is warbling in and out...sad, innit? it may be destined for the dustbin, but i thought it should be immortalized here before i put it out of its misery...
