Comment:
Disc two of two, covering 1975-1981. Last tracks cut: "Fantastic Voyage," "Absolute Beginners," "Saviour Machine," "Rebel Rebel" and "Modern Love."Feedback:
Hmmm - Great stuff, of course, but I would have lost either of the last two for "Rebel Rebel." The riff alone is genius.
"Rebel Rebel" and "Modern Love" are great tunes which shows how deep Bowie goes.
I know you only went up to 81, but there's a special place in my heart for 84's "blue jean". the rest of his 80's output: meh...great mixes, btw
nice to see sound and vision represented! mission accomplished.
Great 2 Disc set, although judging by your 'last tracks cut' I reckon you may have needed a 3 Discer :)
Greetings from Army Holidays Rob! Looks like a great 2 disc set, like sammyg123 said. I digg Bowie very well, i know almost every song, but never heard him with Queen, mmh, have to check it out, somehow when i have time laters.
A fine collection, hard to quibble with any of it (ok, fine, maybe a couple tracks here and there... "Rebel Rebel" being, as others have noted, pretty key Bowie). Tough to confine him to 2 discs (I did the same, while also including a small number of pre-70 and post-79 tracks, requiring me to cut a few of your inclusions).
I think the observation that Bowie stands alongside Neil as the most significant 70's solo performers sounds about right.

Spot on with these, Rob. Ditto everyone as far as Rebel Rebel and Modern Love but the discs have to end somewhere, don't they.
Like Mark says really !
That's as far as you need go with Bowie. A good example of a man all used up by the early eighties. It's all the more remarkable, considering this mix, how ordinary he became. I'd ditch Under Pressure for Rebel Rebel, that's my only criticism.
I was playing 'Oh! You Pretty Things' for doowadette the other day and told her that Bowie was like the gay Dylan, but now he's married. She asked, "so, he's bisexual?" Out of the mouths of babes...speaking of Bob, where's Song for Dylan? That was always a personal favorite and pairs well with the Boxer as the ultimate Bob tributes.
