Comment:
she: "might i also suggest another mix? specifically, one by the name of "gentle dental". you see, in louisville, i ran across a dentist office going by that name, and it occurred to me that gentle dental was possibly the best call sign ever -- for what, I wasn't sure. but a mix sounds about right. "me: " "gentle dental" is a sealed deal. i might put one or two finishing touches on it, but as it stands, it looks good, and it's quick and painless - i.e., under an hour long. when you gave me the idea at first, i didn't know what kind of a product i'd come up with, but as these things often happen, they develop and blossom and do unexpected things while you're making them, even if you haven't been thinking about it very much."
comments welcome!
Feedback:
if my dentist office had this coming out of their speakers, I'd go in to have five teeth pulled, whether I needed it or not.
this is absolutely lovely.
Really sweet. I especially love the opening duo, the Unbunny track, the Shins track and that 10-12 stretch.
diggin' the theme.
Nice theme and execution. Love the Shins track.
I love themes mixes like this. You could do a whole series, maybe. One mix for mouths. One mix for hands. One mix for hearts. Compile them into a medical mix boxed set.
1-2, 7, 10-11, & 15 all jump out at me - lovely stuff here
Great mix, and no cavities! There's a great song called "Do You Brush Your Teeth" by Suzy and the Dentists, which would be a welcome addition to this mix. You can find it on this mix (which you can also download)www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcontents.asp?strmixid=113853
"I like my dental hygenist. She's very nice. Before I see her I eat an entire box of Oreo Cookies. Sometimes she has to cancel all of her other appointments." - Steven Wright. Well done.
You make the dentist's chair seem inviting.A good song to include would have been Teeth by the Mekons.
It's like stepping back in time 4 decades visiting the dentist out here, scares the hell out of me and I ain't squeamish bout dentists usually! Hoping it's not 6 months b4 we see you again!
Ah, I know the exact dentist office, just a hop skip from Kashmir, the best Indian restaurant in town (which isn't saying much). For Volume Two I suggest "Toothbrush Train" by the Loose Caboose Band.
Great mix. Fine title also. Love that Lemonheads track. And the first two. And the Shins...
