Comment:
more experimental stuff. less noisy, more weird folky. still pretty noisy. oh, and for some reason matthew bower keeps ending up on my tapes in one form or another.Feedback:
Fantastic. The material that I know is seriously up my alley and the rest is definitely intriguing to me.
awesome, thanks Rob. i like to think that they organic tracks meshed together pretty well with the noisier ones.
gah typo.
This is well over my head so its back to the drawing board....
i think you win the award for making ta mix where i have not heard any single one of the artists featured. how is this possible?
I'm in the dark here too, but always intrigued by experimental mixes with lots of (these) on them. maybe we could arrange a trade in front of the Space Needle. yes, I'm in Seattle too (Ballard) and your 5-disc tribute to this town's indie music scene from a few years back looks mind-blowing. but now it's 2007; isn't it time for another? welcome back to the site.
you know, after browsing through the recent mix submissions, trying to be a good aotm'er and commenting on people's mixes, i found that everyone was doing the exact the same boring indie/alt thing, it was kind of disappointing. i don't try to be obtuse, i just like a broad range of music, ya know? tornadoZ, your gypsy mix looks fantastic. i'm a huge fan of traditional (gah) world music, so that's right up my alley. any time you're up for a trade, i'm down. the seattle center's only a few blocks from me. also, a new tribute to the seattle scene is in order! thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome (from what I can gather, admittedly). Nitzche, Keith Rowe, Panther Skull and a selection from the Cambodian Cassette Archives Compilation all deem this a mix well worth further investigation and research. Hence, any mix that piques interest to this level is equates to awesomeness.
well, the jackie deshannon track i edited down to like 11 seconds (and affected slightly), and its only purpose is to serve as an introduction. it's a great song though, kind of a shame, ha. that cambodian cassette archive song is incredible.
i don't really know what to say about this, but i'll tell you one thing - i'm gonna read your blog some, and maybe i'll get some idea of what's going on here! :)
ha, that's a good start. looking at your last.fm profile, i think you'd dig traveling bell. kind of weird folk with a female singer.
looks like somethin' else
I'm sorry, but I'm speechless - like Hemizen says, really . . . .
Looks fascinating. Whilst there's a lot here I don't know, I have an inkling this would be my thing.
based on a lot of the artists i recognize from some of your mixes, i think you'd have an appreciation for quite a bit of this.
